Steen Rasmussen
Steen Rasmussen is a renowned musician who has established himself as one of Denmark’s most talented and versatile artists.
His band / Quinteto has existed since 2007, released seven albums, and toured extensively in Denmark, France, Spain, Ecuador, Columbia, and Brazil. He has achieved prestigious 5-star reviews from various major music reviewers and his albums have repeatedly been named as among the year’s best releases.
Two albums were recorded in Brazil. Three albums received nominations, – in 2013, the Danish Jazz Grammy in the category “Best Special Release of the Year”, and in 2016 and 2019, the Danish Composer’s prize CARL PRIZE in the category “Best Jazz Album of the Year”.
The 2011 album “Steen Rasmussen Quarteto em Sao Paulo featuring Marcia Lopes” was released in Japan as a special edition. The band has a long tradition of cooperation with Brazilian artists.
